There’s a new website out there for parents who want a different kind of bedtime story. It’s called Story Something, and it allows you to personalize a story to read to your child, so that little Madison can hear about herself rather than, say, Olivia the pig. Not that there’s anything wrong with Olivia. I personally adore her.
And hey look! My story is one of the Story Something editors’ picks. How about that. It’s called The Imaginary Friends, and you can find it here.
The idea for the story (a girl who has more imaginary friends than she can handle) was inspired by … you guessed it … my own childhood. I had reams of imaginary friends. Once I took the entire invisible cast of The Nutcracker Suite to kindergarten. Oh yeah. I was that kid.
